I don't like it when Rafa's got that uncertain-disheveled-hard-court look to him. It's a distinct look, and he was rocking it tonight. I'm also not a huge fan of standing 8 feet behind the baseline to return second serves and hitting loopy topspin forehands that land inside the service box...but anyway, it seemed to get the job done, eventually. I was pretty stressed about it, though. I've never liked Rafa's late-night matches on Ashe, and this did nothing to persuade me otherwise.

With that said, his smile was especially lovely, wasn't it?

I don't like the uncertain-disheveled-hard-court look either! But I honstly didn't see much of it yesterday, but that might be because I was half asleep lol. I wasn't overly worried though. Obviously winning the 3rd set was a huge relief...but other than that I was calm. I have to agree with you though on standing that far behind the baseline...why Rafa???? I mean I know why...but I still don't get it...

I'm glad someone managed to remain calm through that :) I could hardly stand it.

I have to wonder when he resorts to his defensive clay court tactics on a hard court. We all know that he knows how to play on the surface (he won the Australian!), but he just seems unwilling to really be aggressive on a consistent basis.
