Oh baseball.

Best part begins at 0:40 in, upper right corner, Tim forcibly yanked from the fray by his pitching coach. He did get back in there later, though. Well, sort of. It was more of an ineffectual hovering around the outskirts.

I find it a bit odd that MLB steadfastly refuses to broadcast footage of fans who run out onto the field, but when it's two teams brawling, we get uninterrupted coverage of the entire thing, from multiple angles. With commentary and lengthy analysis afterwards.

Oh, baseball. I may never understand all of your mysteries.

ETA: Thanks, MLB. Video now here, Tim shenanigans beginning at 0:26.

They sort of praise with faint damns, don't they? And Kruk and Kuip were so unabashedly pro-brawl. Although it never buys you anything but bruises and suspensions.

"The video contains content from MLB Advanced Media, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds."

BUT I'M IN THE US, IT'S THE GODDAMN GIANTS, I JUST WANT TO SEE A FIGHT, MAN.

Won't play for me, but I assume it's awesome. I do like a good fight, even if I only tend to get hockey ones. ...Man, swimming should have more fights.

That's how MLB rolls; you have to be quick to see stuff before they block it on YouTube.

Anyway, video here (http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20110806&content_id=22819452&vkey=news_mlb&c_id=mlb).

The best part is how Tim's like, "omg, must get involved!" and his coach basically just plucks him away, like "um, no."

Apparently, Sanchez's beef with the Phillies goes back to 2009. Finally a slideshow that is useful.

Who was that Phillies coach/player with his arm around Zito?

LOL at Oswalt smiling at 1:40. <3

Because you know who you want on your side in a fight? Big Time Timmy Jim! (I just love how Righetti is all "HELL NO" and Tim's all hopping around.

Also amusing, if you have a chance to see it, is the footage from the dugout, where you can see everyone run by. "There's Javi. There's Romo. There's Fontenot. There's Timmy. There's Wilson." It's like a parade.

So true—the random Barry Zito sightings were some of the more entertaining moments for me. Aside from the Tim-related bits, of course.

A lot of things in baseball are side-eye worthy, with brawls amongst them. People would probably argue that it's part of the ~tradition and ~unwritten code of baseball. I say "whatever" to that.

But, it was certainly entertaining, wasn't it?

That slideshow was amazing! Very comprehensive.

Tim seemed so bemused that Rags was daring to pull him back. The half-hearted meandering struggle was awesome.

I missed the dugout footage. Sounds epic though :)
