How sweep it is...

Even almost three weeks later :)

It was amazing fun, being surrounded by other fans in that beautiful city, more orange and black than I'd ever seen in my entire life. Shuffling through piles of ticker tape in the aftermath of the parade as I walked to City Hall is something I'll never forget.

We couldn't see a damned thing from our vantage point. Behold our view:

It kind of sucked, because I was wandering the parade route hours in advance and could've snagged a great spot dozens of times over, but I waited to meet up with my friends when they came down from their offices at 11, which meant we were waaay back. I thought, no prob, everyone will be in cable cars—except then they weren't. (Apart from Brian Wilson, who's somewhere in the photo below.) I guess I'll know better if there's ever a Next Time.

After the parade, I walked down to City Hall, passing Yerba Buena gardens along the way, which was the first place in SF that has ever felt truly livable and comfortable. Crossing the pedestrian bridge over Howard Street, I paused and looked at the green grass and the horizon and wanted to live there. Utterly beautiful spot.

Once I got to City Hall, I couldn't see anything (again), but I maneuvered into a spot where I could at least take a photo of Zito on the big screen for [livejournal.com profile] soupypictures.

This was Tim, I think, not that you can really tell. But I do know that my big screen photos were pretty limited, so.

After that, I walked back and toasted the champs with some champagne at the hotel bar, met up with my friends for dinner, and then hopped on the plane back to Phoenix. I kind of liked the crazy randomness of a 24 hour trip. Would do again.

Until next time, San Francisco <3

I still can't believe they actually won it. It feels sort of unreal.

I totally know what you mean. Amazing.
