Robert Smith/Simon Gallup Roundup
I thought it might benefit my ongoing effort to convince
thorne_scratch of the many merits of Robert/Simon if I collected relevant photos, gifs, videos, and quotes in one LJ post, versus what I've previously been doing, which is haphazardly shouting at her in various Google chats about the longing glances. The public kisses. The fits of laughter they inspire in each other. The longevity of it all—the slow burn of a relationship that's spanned nearly 40 years.

So, this post is just a random collection of some of my favorite Robert/Simon things, presented in the hope that the sheer volume of the content (if not necessarily the coherency) will be suitably persuasive.
I mentioned the longing glances, and that's probably a good place to start. There's been a lot of intense staring over the years.

Slightly less subtle, I present this photo of Robert and Simon kissing at a dinner party:

And Simon kissing Robert backstage after a show (note how the other band members flee the scene as they realize what's unfolding):

And kissing onstage during a show:

Laughing together:

Then you have Robert's classic quote:
"People probably think I'm gay because I'm very close to Simon. We're not worried about being seen with our arms around each other in public."
Indeed.

Robert's body language here:

Doing each other's hair:

There's also this gifset of an incredible interview wherein they discuss doing each other's hair. (In a different part of that same interview, Robert calls Simon "so hunky." Just FYI.)
This gorgeous onstage moment:

And this recent gorgeous onstage moment, in pic, gif, and video form:

(Skip to 3:05 to get to the good stuff.)
This isn't super-shippy, but it's one of my favorite moments in Play Out. I love how Robert laughs uncontrollably at everything Simon does.
But my all-time favorite moment in Play Out has to be this one:
Is it just me, or is a DVD/digital reissue of Play Out in order so that we can finally have some high quality clips and gifs?
Fellow Cure fans on my flist, what did I miss? What are your favorite Robert/Simon moments?
