I'm glad it made a difficult week at least a little bit better. Hope things have gone smoother for you now that it's the weekend <3

The dynamic at the end wasn't plotted out in advance; it evolved as I was writing, but just seemed to fit. Robert was so worried about all the bad things that could happen that for a long time he lost sight of the fact that Simon actually cared. That's part about why these two intrigue me so much—in spite of how frantic/desperate/wild I could imagine them being with each other, at the end of the day there were these incredibly deep, meaningful connections that bolstered a relationship that's lasted for 40 years.
