I've seen LeBron's shoe commercial half a dozen times today (and two different versions, besides) and I'm surprised at how much it continues to amuse me. The boy can act. But then, what can't he do? (Well, I suppose you could say he can't make game-winning shots or clutch free throws, but that notwithstanding...) He gives Melo in the NBA TV commercial a run for his money.

It's starting to look as though I'll be going to Portland (Oregon) for Spring Break. Kind of a bizarre destination, but my plans to go to coastal Florida with my sister were thwarted when it was discovered that her university's Spring Break isn't the same week as mine. So we're going to visit our aunt and uncles for a long weekend instead. I'm kind of thrilled, though, because my aunt is amazing—just a genuinely good person, kind and funny. And she used to own a restaurant with her husband, so she's a gourmet chef on top of everything else. She's going to teach my sister and I how to make roasted garlic soup and focaccia while we're there—two dishes that we absolutely loved when we last visited her. As for my uncles, my aunt's husband is an interesting individual, arrogant and kind of impersonal; he thinks he's some sort of wine expert, although I'm not convinced. Nonetheless, I do drink a lot of good wines when I visit them. My other uncle is one of my favorite people. Musical, artistic, introspective. When I went to Portland in November of 2003, he went with me to see Placebo. Enough said. There's also a chance that we might be able to borrow a cabin on the coast that belongs to a friend of theirs. So I might get my ocean after all.

We plan to go there from March 16—19, which means that my little dream of seeing the Suns play the Trailblazers in Portland on the 12th was dashed, but the upside of this arrangement is that we won't be going to Portland the weekend of the 25th, which means that I can still see the Nuggets when they come to Phoenix :) I'm really pleased about that, because OMG Melo...

In other news, the first week of school was uneventful. I have no homework, really, going into the weekend—not even in Visual Communication, and this is honestly the first time that's ever happened. I'm only taking two classes, but I'm balancing it out with two graphic design jobs.

And shit, I suddenly feel so boring, looking at that last paragraph. *wanders off*
