Tonight is the Phoenix Suns vs. Miami Heat game; it's the first time the two teams have played since the Suns traded Shawn Marion to the Heat for Shaquille O'Neal back in February. It'll also be a reunion of sorts for Shawn and Boris. I hope they give me something to work with. They were probably my favorite pairing to write, and it was amazing to have them so close at hand all the time, playing for my favorite team, in my hometown, tangible enough that I would run into Boris on the street sometimes.

They were also awesome because they were so plausible. I'm convinced that they were at least blowing each other after games, if not in a full-on relationship. All the signs were there. And I miss the two of them. Boris is still around, but it's not the same—he's not the same, hasn't been since the 2005-2006 season—and I'm really looking forward to going to the game tonight and watching for something, anything. I would love to write them again :)

First, you gotta remember how beautiful Boris was back then.

I mean, he was stunning.

I loved his face.

And...other things.

(I did hate how Raja's calf exploded right there, though. That really doomed us for the rest of the playoffs. I still think that year was their best chance to win the championship, maybe. Ugh, Raja's leg...)

Anyway, Boris was beautiful, and Shawn was...well. He's a great player, and he was a revelation that year. Incredible. He wasn't the partner I would have chosen for Boris, but Boris was clearly, undeniably obsessed with him, in a blushing schoolgirl kind of way, and Shawn seemed to bask in all the attention. They were magic together, if a bit awkward.

So anyway. I hope they can't stop touching each other tonight. Or at least touch each other every now and again. Or just do something.

Also curious to see how the crowd will react to Shawn. I could see it going either way, to be honest, but he really deserves some applause.
