horizon_greene: Robert Smith singing (NBA)

OMFG, we've been outed.

A mainstream basketball blog has stumbled upon NBA slash.

They reference a bunch of fics, including two of my most cringe-worthy offerings, but what can you do? Kind of surreal reading about my work over there.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] shadow_shimmer for bringing this to my attention.

7.5/10! 8/10! I dunno if that's good or not? Let's err on the side of the positive.

I wonder how long until the rest of it comes out and if it'll be a big deal.

I don't know either, lol! Anyway, rereading it later, when I wasn't so flustered and mortified, the whole post was actually quite hilarious. Who knows what will come of it.

INDEED.

No, they didn't :( You can't really blame them, though, as that story is kind of tucked away off the beaten path.

So very relieved that as of yet they haven't found those of us on the XX side. (Or, for that matter, any NBA stuff that wasn't on one of those three sites. *totally did not write really bad Jason Kidd/Kenyon Martin, YA RLY*)

[identity profile] horizon-greene.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
Someone in the comments was calling for it, IIRC. But no, nothing was actually discovered.

(There's NBA stuff that's not on one of those three sites?!)

OMG I want to read Jason Kidd/Kenyon Martin.

They seemed to like your stuff, right? They liked mine, too. Granted, I'd seen a lot of non-slashers saying "those two are so doing it" about the players in it, so maybe that's not a surprise if they're into plausability.

It said "Part 1". Maybe there's more to come? They didn't actually link to Germadian and Slashketball, I noticed.

Yes, they seemed to "like" it ;) And I have to agree that plausibility goes a long way in RPS.

Did it say "Part 1"? I completely missed that, hmm.

Let me see... I misquoted. "NBA FANFICTION THEATAH, vol 1: LIVEJOURNAL. " Perhaps we should prepare for more linkage? (Or make the good stuff easier to find? *eyebrow waggle*) You and shadow_shimmer are the mods of nba_slash, right?

[identity profile] horizon-greene.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure what else is out there beyond what they found, plus Germadian and Slashketball—if there's more, I'm not aware of it and it would thrill me to discover it!

And yes, we are the mods :) May we be of assistance?

[identity profile] scrawl42.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
Just checking to make sure it wasn't another figment of my imagination. xD

They have some good points. All NBA slash is about Steve Nash or the Suns and Spurs. LOL.

[identity profile] horizon-greene.livejournal.com 2008-08-20 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
Almost all :) There are a couple with other pairings. Small fandom, I suppose...
