Earth Day Birthday
Apr. 22nd, 2009 10:46 pmToday was Earth Day—a lovely day, in my opinion. Earth Day also happens to be my birthday, which makes it even more fun :)
I have to admit that I was feeling kind of glum about my birthday this year, for some inexplicable reason. But when I got to the office, my coworkers had decorated my desk with banners, balloons, glitter, and confetti, and I immediately felt much more festive. The confetti got all over my arms and my skirt, and I spent the entire day tracking little multicolored flecks of foil all over the office. It was fabulous.
One of the brokerage teams (my favorite team <3) gave me a box of adorable little cupcakes, which was really nice of them. There were phone calls and texts and emails throughout the day wishing me a happy birthday, and by lunchtime I was feeling much happier about everything. Thanks again to those of you on LJ who sent me PMs—that really made the day special :)
After work I went out for drinks with some friends. We started with Coronas and nachos at a little sports bar in the Esplanade. We played several rounds of shockingly inept pool, then wandered over to Merc Bar for smoked salmon and bellinis. I'm currently drinking water and reminding myself that I do need to go back to work in the morning.
Tomorrow night my family is taking me out for a nice dinner. I love it when the festivities carry over into multiple days <3
