It bears mentioning that the best part of the celebration was all the Posey/Lincecum action, after an awkward season where they really didn't play much together, and played mostly terribly when they did.

I'm flying out late tomorrow night, heading to San Francisco for Wednesday's World Series parade. I'm only going to be there for 24 hours because I have to be back at work on Thursday, but it will be worth every chaotic moment. I regretted not going up there in 2010, and I don't think you can realistically count on your team winning the WS every two years, so. Off I go.

I can't wait to see Tim in a shower of ticker tape, in a city that I love, surrounded by other fans in their black and orange. On Halloween! It's so perfect.

Oh, Barry. Thank God you ditched the mustache. I am so happy he managed to be, you know, good again this year. I wish Tim hadn't been all jacked up, but still, it was nice to see Zito rounded into form again.

The Giants, for the time being, remain the only baseball team I can read porn about. I love my Nats, but I am not quite ready to read about them boning; I'm still deciding whether I want to move them from real life fandom to online fandom. I hope there is a sudden spurt of Giants porn after this. (Though honestly, I like making lists of players I want to hug. I'd hug the shit out of everyone on the Nats. I'd hug most of the Giants. I had this long involved conversation with a relative while mildly drunk about how much I want to hug Pablo Sandoval. Because he looks huge and marshmallow-like and damn, I just want to squeeze him because it looks comforting and he might give out a high pitched Pillsbury kind of giggle. I think I may have problems.)

Buster's face is...well. It's really saying something in that one pic. Something that The Typewriters should be using as inspiration and running with; I do wonder where they've gone.

Did you make it to the parade? I was not a fan of putting the players in convertibles rather than streetcars, sigh. Was very hard to see much from my vantage point.

Yes! I got to Market & Sutter at a little around 6am so we were able to get a front row view. Which was a huge thing for me because I'm short and I always have to tip toe over people but not this time! Lots of waiting and grogginess, but it was so worth it. I was hoping they'd be in cable cars too - I know Brian Wilson was in one though.

The parade was so great! I was in the first row and I was sooooo close to them haha. I'm planning to go tomorrow but just along the route again and not to the Civic Center; I figure I can catch that stuff better on TV.

I actually enjoyed the ceremony at the Civic Center better than the parade itself, but maybe that's just because I was so far back, it was impossible to determine what was going on 75% of the time. Still a good time :) Hope you had fun!

Oh I didn't see anything from where I was haha. Except from the phone videos people were taking. The only person I saw was Brian Wilson because he was in a trolley. The convertibles were supposed to be an improvement over the trolley cars so you can see the guys from both sides but... now unless you're in the first or second row you can't see anyone at all! But the point was just to be with the crowd so that was fun. :)
